From church to 4por1, from the studios to the Latin Grammy
Born in Florianópolis and raised in Joinville, in southern Brazil, Duda Andrade is the son of a banker and an arts teacher. At eight, he began on acoustic guitar, and at twelve he received his first electric guitar. He studied Music Theory and Popular Guitar at the Casa da Cultura de Joinville, developing in church and forming several local bands.
In 2003, invited by music producer Emerson Pinheiro, he moved to Rio de Janeiro to join 4por1. The band released eight albums—three Gold Records and one Platinum—ending in 2016 after 13 years of impact on Christian music.
His career as a studio musician includes 6 Latin Grammy awards, 6 additional nominations, and numerous diamond, platinum, and gold albums. Duda has worked with the leading labels and producers in Brazilian Christian music, recording for artists such as Fernanda Brum, Aline Barros, Kleber Lucas, Anderson Freire, and others.
Married to Marcelle since 2012 and father to Vicente, Lorenzo, and Benicio, the couple was ordained to pastoral ministry in 2018 at their local church, where they lead the creativity area. Duda remains passionate about what he does, certain that God called him by His grace.
